#127 Halloween Magic

What could be more appealing at Halloween? Quick and easy to make blocks for each design! Applique the cats and pumpkins by hand or with a machine buttonhole stitch. Add green beads for cat eyes and use embroidery floss for whiskers! Halloween Magic includes the directions for three different projects:

#128 Through the Seasons

Through the Seasons is a mini quilt that you can create with a different appliqued design and coordinating fabrics for every season or month. There are seventeen different applique designs in this pattern, and you can applique the designs by hand or machine. A great pattern for using your fabric stash or fat quarters, too!

#129 Sunbonnet Sue - The Calendar Girl

This pattern features an updated version of Sunbonnet Sue with a different appliqued motif to represent each month of the year. It is a great way to use the seasonal prints in your stash! The sample is machine appliqued with a buttonhole stitch but you could hand applique it, also. Embellish with buttons, beads or specialty thread if desired!

#130 Criss Cross

This is an interesting cross block that I drafted to make it template free. There are four different sized blocks in this pattern so depending on the quilt block size you use, this quilt could be used as a wall quilt, table topper or a throw! The directions are written using five different fabrics, but it could easily be a scrap quilt using light, dark and medium prints.

Skill level: Intermediate
Finished block size: 6" x 6", 9" x 9", 12" x 12" or 15" x 15"
Number of pieced blocks: 9 (5 of Block A, 4 of Block B)

Finished quilt size:

Using a 6" block: 25" square

Using a 9" block: 41" square

Using a 12" block: 55" square

Using a 15" block: 71" square

#131 Top This!

This template free pattern features four different versions of two different sizes of quilts. Quick and easy to do using larger (than normal) pieces so it's a great project for a beginner! Directions are included to make the Large Quilt into a Christmas tree skirt (see red and green sample) where the "hole" for the tree is covered by the basket. Depending on the size of the quilt, these "toppers" can be used on different sized tables or as wallhangings.

#133 Country Crossing

Country Crossing features one block sewn with coordinating fabrics in two different ways. When the blocks are sewn together, the intersection of the blocks produces an optical illusion so it looks like the blocks are on point. Template free makes this quilt go together quickly, and helps you look clever!

#134 Lightning Does Strike

Lightning Does Strike was originally going to be "Zig Zag", but the week my son, Myk, who is my graphic designer was working on this pattern, his first house was struck by lightning. He and his wife, Marnie, had only been in their home less than two weeks, but they had to have their siding plus part of their roof replaced. This quilt pattern is template free using strip sets. Directions are given for using a directional border print (see inset photo) or for non-directional fabrics.

Molly is our beautiful golden retriever in the photo.
